Want a chance to show and sell your work? Join The Show, a juried competition where selected photographers submit their best work and have a chance to not only show their art, but also sell it to the general public. Here's how it works: ShutterBudd has partnered with local businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area to sponsor photography-based displays. We take care of all the grunt work like matting and framing prints and installing them at the venues. All you need to do is submit your best images according to our theme. It's a win-win situation: the local businesses can enjoy having beautiful art on their walls and the photographers get serious public exposure.

Theme

The theme for this show will be "Textures." You can choose to shoot things up close, or far away.  Make the photo come to life with 3D qualities!

Venues

Two lovely, local businesses in Mountain View, California (Sweet Corner and zpizza, both located on bustling Castro Street) will be hosting the art for the month of April. They are both interested in giving back to the artistic community and hosting beautiful art in their spaces, and this is a great chance for everyone to win.

Submission Guidelines and Fees

We'll take care of matting and framing your prints. We have standard 8x10" cool white mats that fit into simple, black 11x14" frames. If you would like to custom mat your own work, we will gladly frame it for you as long as your mat fits into an 11x14" frame. The photos will be displayed for the specified period of time. The title, description, artist's name, and selling price will be posted next to each photo.

Because this is a physical show, there is a non-refundable submission fee of $5, which allows each photographer to submit up to 15 original images. This fee will be used to cover costs such as matting and framing, hanging hardware, advertising, and administrative costs. In addition, ShutterBudd will take a 30% commission from all sales of prints during the show, and the photographer must set the selling price accordingly.  (We recommend setting it at $100 USD.) Print Delivery and Return

Prints can only be delivered to ShutterBudd via US mail, UPS, FedEx, or other postal carrier. Hand delivery of prints will no longer be accepted.

Prints will be returned to the photographer only upon request; The photographer must contact ShutterBudd to arrange return of his or her print. Pre-paid postage must accompany the print submission in order for prints to be returned.

Important Deadlines

All dates are stated in the right-hand column of this page and will have a deadline of 11:59PM PST on the specified date.

All prints must be received by the deadline to be considered for the show. Final selections will be published to ShutterBudd.com.

The Fine Print

• You must be 18 years or older to submit a photo.
• Photographs may be either film or digital media, but all submissions shall be made online at ShutterBudd.com. Images from film may be scanned and submitted electronically.
• You retain all rights to your work. By submitting your work to this contest, you grant ShutterBudd the right to do the following: put it on the web, show it at the selected venue, and use it in the promotion of ShutterBudd.
• The photograph must be your original work. Please don't use someone's else work or breach any copyrights.
• If selected, please do not use watermarks or any other text or image on your print submission. The image will be disqualified if this is the case.
• No digitally-added borders on the images. We will be matting and framing the prints received, so they will have a white matting around the print.
• If you would like to mat your own photograph, you must provide a cool white mat cut to fit an 11x14” frame.
• Please do not digitally add or remove anything in the image. Cropping is fine, but don't go crazy Photoshopping someone or something in or out of the photo.
• The judges' decision is final. If you are not selected, please try for one of our future shows.
• We will only accept delivery of prints via US mail, UPS, FedEx or other postal carrier. We no longer accept hand-delivery of prints.
